Mexico:
For years we had been dreaming about creating a residential teaching facility that would be our retirement project (hey, it sounds fun to us!). We finally found the perfect location in the UNESCO World Heritage Sight of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. In 2020 we purchased a two bedroom house on a double lot in the neighborhood of Colonia Olimpo and in 2021 we broke ground on our studio building.
Since 2020 we have been slowly renovating the house (our poor house had been road hard) and building our studio building. Keep your eyes peeled on our social media or sign up for our newsletter to follow along on our progress...
The Empty Bowls Project of Paducah:
This is Michael's baby. The skinny is that many ceramic bowls are made, most of them are glazed by our community, and then there is a one day event where folks get to pick out a handmade bowl and have food put in it for $18. We have about 17+ local restaurants that donate food and volunteer their time. For more information visit the Facebook page: www.facebook.com/emptybowlspaducah. And to find out about Empty Bowls worldwide go to wikipedia.
The Art Guild of Paducah:
AGP has a wonderful cooperative gallery in Downtown Paducah at 115 Market House Square. Michael is an exhibiting member and Victoria is a volunteer. For more information about the gallery and the Guild go to their website at: artguildofpaducah.org.
